Prof. Liviu Papadima, PhD
Vice-rector of the University of Bucharest since 2011 and dean of the Faculty of Letters during 2004 and 2011, Professor Liviu Papadima, Ph.D. is specialised in literary history, rhetoric, narratology, pragmatics and experimental poetics.
He is currently president of the National Committee for the Romanian Language and Literature and related subjects for high-school education, as well as the president of the Superior Committee of the Romanian Language Institute.
Professor Liviu Papadima has a Ph.D. in philology at the University of Bucharest, with a thesis entitled The author-reader relationship in the 19th century Romanian literature. Forty-eight and post-forty-eight prose.
He followed numerous post-university studies and research internships in Romania (The New Europe College) and abroad (the University of Vienna, de Vrije Universiteit, in Amsterdam), along with teaching internships as a lector and as an invited professor at the Romanic Language Institute at the University of Vienna (1991-1994, 2000-2002) and at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam (1996-1997).
In time, Professor Liviu Papadima, Ph.D. has held several positions, as a member of the CNATDCU Philology Committee, as an ARACIS expert, as a Presidential Councilor of the Department of Culture and Education of the Romanian Presidency and also as honorific president of the International Romanian Language and Literature Olympics.
He has published over 50 studies and essays of critique, history and literary theory, linguistics and the theory of art in collective volumes and in periodicals, over 10 collaboration volumes, cultural essays, over 100 reviews and numerous cultural articles.
